Interconnected Movement
Description
In this series, participants are guided in weekly-themed gentle movement practices, followed by prompts for reflection, sharing, and learning with each other. This integrative approach offers participants the opportunity to deepen their connections with their whole being (body, mind, and spirit) and be part of a larger community of learning. This course is specifically designed for anyone who wants to connect their felt bodily experiences with the larger context of their life and life in community. The themes are intentionally broad to invite participants to: bring their unique experiences to the group and deepen their awareness because they are in a group. We listen, share, gently move our bodies, and delight in our togetherness in a safely structured environment. Benefits: -Heightened bodily awareness -Deepened connections within and with others -Inquiry into how and by what we are moved -Embodied and Conversational Learning The themes for course #1 are: Week 1: Inhabitance Week 2: Listening Week 3: Boundaries Week 4: Parts and Whole Your Teacher: Michele Nierle (she/her) is in a tangled process of unlearning and relearning what it means to live in a body. She is Lead Health Coach at Berks Counseling Center, using trauma-informed yoga, movement, stillness, and nervous system strategies. Her deep desire is to help herself and others connect with their bodies as a radical act of personal, societal, and environmental healing. Michele received her 200-level yoga certification from Shri Yoga and Wellness, 230+ hours from Karuna Yoga serving as a teacher trainer, and is certified in Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies. While living in Virginia, she taught yoga as an adjunct professor in colleges and universities, and received a Masters of Divinity. She and her spouse Luke live in Mohnton and are dog parents of Peanut and Leroy.
